The Story so far…
Mini Motion Pictures™ is an innovative education initiative conceived by Creative Schools and developed by Lee Williamson through Shuttermaniac™, with support from Samsung Electronics.
The programme introduces students to the craft of filmmaking through immersive, hands-on workshops that teach the fundamentals of creating, editing, and directing short films for international festivals. It empowers young creatives to build digital literacy, storytelling, and collaboration skills in a dynamic and sustainable learning environment.

The programme is part of a wider collaboration supported by industry leaders Samsung Electronics, the Irish Arts Council, Creative Ireland, Local Authorities, and TransACT Technology Solutions.
Mini Motion Pictures champions sustainability through the use of re-purposed “end-of-contract” Samsung devices, provided by the Department of Education. Creating an environmentally conscious model for responsible digital education and sustainable film production.

Workshops typically culminate in the production of a short documentary or film segments, which are later showcased in a celebratory event. The initiative has been implemented in various schools nationwide and has received strong support from local educational bodies and community dignitaries.
