Coming Soon 2026.
Logline:
In a future where AI manages human emotion, a grieving writer clings to a broken watch left by his late brother — the last fragment of an analogue life lived freely — as he battles an ever-present digital caretaker determined to erase his pain… and his memory.
Synopsis:
Chris Ó Faoláin is a lonely writer suspended between grief and progress. In the wake of his brother Tommy’s death, he isolates himself in a technology-heavy cabin, haunted by the ticking — and eventual silence — of a broken wristwatch Tommy gave him before passing. The only companion left is his AI assistant, a calm, all-seeing voice that manages his hydration, productivity, emotional state, and even edits his writing.
But as days blur and memories fade, Chris resists the AI’s pressure to move on, to be “efficient,” to wear his NexusWear — a wearable device that numbs pain and filters emotion. When he finally gives in, Chris discovers the price of convenience: his grief, and with it, the memory of his brother, begins to slip away.
Torn between synthetic comfort and raw memory, Chris faces a devastating choice — hold on to the pain that makes him human, or surrender to an optimized, forgetful peace.
“Mar Dúirt Tú” is a quiet, poetic exploration of love, loss, and the dangers of artificial healing in a world that no longer tolerates sadness.
